(1) How do you currently use technology in the classroom, if at all? If so, what technologies? How many students have access to PCs at home?
I use calculators and I incorporate powerpoints in my lessons. I have my students utilize computers for reports and projects...but have not had a lot of access to computers and technolgy in the past. Would use more if I had it! About 10% and inconsistently at that. The area being so rural, its not like they can just go across the street to a friends house or to the library to access the computer.
(2) Is your school leadership supportive of your individual use of technology in teaching and learning?
I am sure it is; however, I am just starting my first year at this school.
(3) Where did you get information about ICT in the classroom or about technology (before this PD, of course!)?
From other teachers who found info online or heard from another friend. Usually word of mouth.
(4) Would you be interested in connecting online with other teachers from around the state/region/world with similar interests?
Maybe around the region. I sometimes feel if I spend too much time connecting or learning or going to conferences I end up not spending enough time with my students.

Thursday Blog 2
Blog 2: What do you want/expect/need from Robin as she observes or visits your school this year?
I want a brain transplant from Robin--seriously, can I have one?
I would love to have her come teach a lesson or observe me teaching a lesson and get some constructive criticism or postive reinforcement.
I want to be told that what I am doing is right or what I am lacking--things that I might not notice of myself.

Blog 1: Ideas for PD Sessions during the school year.
I prefer not to miss days at school (kind of a control freak and I don't think anyone else can execute my lessons the way I want :-p) but for me a Saturday or a day on a 3-day weekend is so much better.
Follow up on how we are doing and challenges or triumphs we may be expereincing?
Perhaps more training on Fathom once we get going and using it in our classroom

Wednesday
I have really enjoyed the morning sessions with Angie...
How she teaches is very similar to how I teach, and the totally reinforces my opinion of my teaching. (HAPPY THOUGHTS)
Things about yesterday and this morning that I enjoyed, but didn't mentions:
slope-intercept form...her idea of b= beginning and m= move.... I like that...and will definitely use it!
The point game--about using just the slope to find other points on the line that other people haven't chose...I like that and thought about it extending to find equivalent fractions....
Oh yeah....talked to a friend's little sister last night--she's almost 13 (2 more weeks) and she thinks it would be totally cool if they could blog about their math class....(of course she might be a geek lol)
This afternoon was fun playing with excell and creating and using survey's in fathom.

Monday: First Day of MSP Summer Institute (omak)

I learned how to put data from the Internet on to Fathom--very, very cool!
2. What do you still have questions about or would still like to learn?
I would love to have more time to play with Fathom :-) but I don't quite need more time with it.
3. What applications are there to classroom practice?
I like the idea of blogging for a math journal and I would like to work on the wiki space for
my classroom. I have already used fathom, so this is exciting that I am getting another copy of it :-)
